President Akufo-Addo Sacks Chairman Wotumi's  Bosome Freho DCE -Amidst Jubilation Of NPP Executives

In a letter communicating the decision by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and signed by the sector minister, Daniel Bowte said the suspension is to allow investigation into the matter by the appropriate agencies to verify the authenticity of the alleged audio recording.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has has sacked the embattled  District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bosome Freho in the Ashanti Region, Mr Yaw Danso with immediate effect, for his alleged involvement in galamsey.
An audio in circulation which went viral on social media to implicate the District Chief Executive when he was purportedly heard encouraging illegal mining activities in his district.
In a letter communicating the decision by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and signed by the sector minister, Daniel Bowte said the suspension is to allow investigation into the matter by the appropriate agencies to verify the authenticity of the alleged audio recording.
Some members of the Assembly had already called on President Akufo-Addo, his Chief of Staff, Local Government and Decentralization Minister, and Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Abu Jinapor to take a serious look into the allegations.
President Akufo-Addo, recently speaking with MMDCEs at a galamsey engagement in Kumasi, pointed out that the District Chief Executive has been invited to defend himself against the charges.
Yaw Danso was noted by the President to be in a period of mourning after being bereaved, and the summons.
“When the one-week celebration is over, he will have to respond and depending on the quality of his response, we will decide what the future holds for him,” President Akufo-Addo said.
Already, the President has warned that he will not shield any government official found complicit in galamsey activities while speaking to MMDCEs during the engagement.
It would be recalled the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bosome Freho Constituency of the Ashanti Region had called for the removal of Mr Danso to avert any disaster and confusion in the constituency.
According to them, tension is already boiling in the constituency due to the actions of the DCE and the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo must not look on unconcerned as the situation can tarnish the unity in its quest to pursue the vision of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to “break the eight jinx.
They cited complete insubordination, sowing disunity and factionalism in Bosome Freho NPP, and politicizing resources meant for Assembly Members as grounds for his removal.
They reiterated  that his continuous reign as DCE will caused the NPP in the constituency come 2024  general elections.
According to them, aside him being the mastermind of galamsey in the District, he is not in good terms with the party executives because, he alleges that, all the ten (10)  candidates he presented for the constituency elections were voted out.
They maintained that, Mr Danso has lost credibility in the district because of his dubious act witnessed by the people for the past years of his stewardship  as DCE in  2017.
Adding up to their lamentations, they called on both National and Regional Executives of the party to push for his removal because he is dividing the party which will push down the Party in the next election.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday 13th October 2022, the Constituency Nasara Coordinator Ahmed Musah Bipoah and the Party's Deputy organizer, Osei Micheal who addressed the press conference disclosed that Mr Danso couldn't even inform the Party of  the demised of his wife.
They stated that, the party stands at the verge of loosing the trust of the people if Yaw Danso continues to reign as the DCE.
