The patients attributed that electricity challenges in the hospital are a threat to the lives of the patients therefore, the authorities should quickly intervene.

A power outage has become a headache in Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), as the standby generator in the facility has also run short of fuel living patients struggling. 

 Soireenews visit to the hospital last night around 7 pm on Monday 3rd May 2021 showed that the authorities of the facility are yet to put proper measures in place to fight the situations.

The lights outlasted for almost two hours living patients and their relatives' helpless though the cause of the problem is unknown. 

Tamale Teaching Hospital is the only referral centre in the Northern part of the country serving citizens around, yet the facility is facing a lot of challenges including, electricity.

Soireenews checks in the facility disclosed that power outage in the hospital becoming rampant and the standby power source in the facility is not helping.

 A worried relative whose patient admitted to the hospital told Soireenews  that, the problem started in the morning and still not fix 

One man said, he sent his wife into the theatre for operation in the process, the power went off more than four times and he was worried because he doesn't know what could happen to her, but God intervention kept her alive.

Some patients and relatives said children who are fighting for their lives in the facility facing a lot due to unstable power in the hospital. 

They added that electricity challenges in the hospital are a threat to the lives of the patients therefore, the authorities should quickly intervene.

 Meanwhile, several efforts by Soireenews to speak to the hospital authorities proved futile.
