Police Razed Down Structures at Tamale Ababoa Forest, 30 Suspected Criminals Arrested

Superintendent Baba Ananga said thirty (30) of the suspects were arrested.

The Northern Regional Police Command has raided the Tamale Ababoa Forest believed to be housing hardened criminals in the Regional capital.

As part of the raid, structures of the suspected criminals were burnt down to ashes, with scores of the suspects escaping police arrest.

Addressing journalists after the raid, the Northern Regional Acting Public Relations Officer of the police, Superintendent Baba Ananga said thirty (30) of the suspects were arrested.

He said they would be screened after which those found culpable are dealt with withholding to him, the individuals apprehended are believed to be involved in activities including car snatching, residential robberies, and Highways robberies.

"Our efforts are aimed at ensuring that we arrest the current development and make the community, especially Tamale a safe heaven to people to go about their businesses peacefully, so because of that the police commander instructed us to identify Places where criminals hide and operate”.

He revealed that items like narcotics believed to be India herm, documents, and identification cards have been retrieved from the suspects.
