31 individuals have been arrested in the Savannah Region for flouting on coronavirus health protocols.

The Savannah Regional Police Command have begun enforcing the mandatory wearing of nose mask, as instructed by the Inspector General of Police.

The enforcement which began in Damongo saw the police apprehending several people in the business centre.

The Deputy Savannah Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ebenezer Larbi told journalists as at the time of filing the report told that thirty-one (31) individuals have been arrested for violenting the pandemic protocols.

He said after the culprits' arrest, they were assembled at the station for questioning.

He revealed that twenty Nine (29) are male and two (2) females.

DCOP Ebenezer Larbi warned residents of the Region to make it a duty to respect the covid-19 protocols to avoid the spread of the virus.

The culprits were made to purchase nose masks at the police station before they were given bail, SoireeNews can report.

One of the arrested persons who happen to be a tricycle driver said, the wearing off the mask makes him uncomfortable to breathe thus his reasons for not putting on a nose mask.
