The Ada District Police Commander, DSP. George Aboagye has confirmed that his outfit has processed before the law court the five culprits from the Toflokpor Salon community.

The suspects were arrested by the police for unlawfully attacking the Ada District Police Command on Friday, February 5, 2021.

According to the Senior Police Officer, the five suspects have been charged with unlawful entry and assault. They were processed on Monday, February 8, 2021, were expected to appear before court today, Wednesday, February 8, 2021.

DSP. George Aboagye made this disclosure in a telephone conversation with SN24 News yesterday on the update of the Songor shooting incident.

Soiree News 24 had earlier on reported that some police officers were dispatched to the Songor Salt Project following an alleged attack on Electrochem Ghana Limited workers by unknown gunmen from Ada Songor. The shooting incident led to the severe injury of about 14 victims including a student.

The incident had been blamed on Ada residents but Chiefs and elders of the community refuted those allegations stating that the “attackers were nonresidents”.

The five victims who are to appear before the law court had unlawfully entered the Ada Police command verbally assaulted them with accusations that the police were behind the shooting.

Meanwhile, the DCE of Ada West District, Adzoteye Lawer Akrofi who was also accused of leading the attack last week has denied any involvement.

He has promised to seek legal action against persons trying to denigrate his hard-earned reputation.

He said he’s committed to ensuring the project goes on to give the area the needed revenue to develop, urging the company to continue the dialogue with all sides.
