Police Deny Issuing Lab Report on Apostle Kwabena Owusu's Cannabis and Tramadol Status

The Police has denied issuing a laboratory analysis report on Apostle Kwabena Owusu Agyei, the "man of God" who arrested and reportedly charged with possession of illegal drugs.

The administrator at the Police Hospital in Accra, DCOP David Eklu, indicated that the report – making rounds in the media – is not an official release from the health facility.

“We have not received any official report on that so the Police Hospital has not issued any official report and we don’t issue official reports to the media,” he said in an interview with theghanareport.com on Thursday, June 11.

The supposed report on the urine composition of 56-year-old Kwabena Owusu Adjei has been shared across social media.

It claimed the accused had tested positive for the use of several narcotic substances.

The report bears the signature of one Supt/Dr Adwoa Nuro-Panin, from the Psychiatry Department of the Hospital.

Despite stressing the fact the lab report in circulation is not an official release, the DCOP did not confirm or deny whether such laboratory tests had been conducted at the hospital on the accused.

The document was dated June 9, the same day the accused was arrested by a team of CID and National Security operatives at Greda Estates in Accra at about 7 am.

The pastor was earlier seen in a viral video threatening death on Jean Mensa if she goes ahead with the planned new voters' register.

He also chided President Akufo-Addo aside other verbal attacks on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the video which has been doing rounds on social media.

Apostle Kwabena Owusu was picked up by National Security on Tuesday morning [9 June 2020] in the midst of a live media interview.

He reportedly had cannabis in his possession as of the time of his arrest.

The 56-year-old was arraigned and charged for threatening a public official, offensive conduct and having, in his possession, an illegal drug.

An Accra Circuit Court remanded the suspect to reappear on June 23, 2020.
