According to the reports, the accused persons were thumbprinting multiple ballot papers to help the NPP Flagbearer Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia as well as parliamentary candidate for Amasaaman and Trobu constituencies in the Greater Accra Region.

The scores of people believed to the suppoters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been busted  by the police for allegedly thumbprinting a large number of ballot papers for the ruling party In an illegal manner.


According to the reports, the accused persons were thumbprinting multiple ballot papers to help the NPP Flagbearer Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia as well as parliamentary candidate for Amasaaman and Trobu constituencies in the Greater Accra Region.

In a video shared on social media, police vehicles were seen carrying some persons to their station for interrogation.


An individual in the video was heard saying that "NPP are thieves and we have caught them. They printed plenty of ballot papers to rig this ongoing crucial election. But they have failed.

The 2024 general elections are ongoing in the 276 administrative constituencies in the country with 18.8 million eligible voters are expected to cash their votes.

The 2024 general elections had thirteen presidential candidates, with nine of them representing political parties and four beig independent candidates.
