The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has commissioned New Okaff Industries Limited at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District under the One District One Factory Initiative on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.

Okaff, an entirely owned Ghanaian company established in 1989 have 30 years of experience in innovative research into the manufacturing of soaps, sanitizers and detergents in addition to the production of Anti-Snake and organic fertilizers.

The president, who was on a 3-day visit in the Ashanti Region was at Mpasatia to commission the factory and addressed that, the objective of New Okaff Industries to play a key role especially in the agricultural sector through the government’s planting for food and jobs will benefit Ghana under his administration hence his concern to empower the factory under the Industrial Transformation Agenda of the NPP Government.

“I am confident that there is nothing Ghanaians cannot do when given the opportunity to work and it rewards will be reaped in no time,” the President of Ghana said.

"Okaff’s hard work in Ghana has been immense and it shows how they can effectively function if given a major boost. I commend them that government will do anything to help them to transform the country,” he added.

The Managing Director of the Company, Nana Yaw Adjei Frimpong commended Nana Akufo Addo for the pragmatic steps taken to strengthen local industries under the 1D1F.

He stated that the decision "will provide immense incentives to New Okaff Industries such as tax Holidays, interest rate subsidies, import duty waivers on the importation of exquisite equipment and machinery we require for expansion and smooth operation of our businesses.”

He added that government's support will enhance “our capacity to increase our direct workforce from the current two hundred (200) employees to over (1000) workers as well as provide over 5,000 indirect jobs to farmers and suppliers of raw materials like pepper, ginger, citronella oils, coconut and palm kernel oils and packaging materials to our company.”
