Photos: Kenyan police crack down on protesters

Kenyan police have been using tear gas and water cannons to scatter demonstrators in Nairobi, the country's capital.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga organized the widespread demonstrations in response to his unsupported assertion that the most recent election was rigged. Additionally, he charges that the government is doing nothing to lower the high expense of living.

The cops and protesters engaged in combat in the Kibera slums, where Mr. Odinga enjoys fervent support.
