The NDC opened the nominations Wednesday morning (February 22, 2023) and Mr.Frimpong who officially declared his intentions to contest the primary was the first to pick the forms.

A 48-year-old Ghanaian entrepreneur, an entrepreneur, philanthropist and delusional citizen of and Asamankese in the Lower West Akim District of the Eastern Region, Mr Owen Kwame Frimpong popularly known as Darling Boy on Wednesday February 22, 2023 picked nomination forms to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary for Lower West Akim constituency in preparation towards election 2024.
The NDC opened the nominations Wednesday morning (February 22, 2023) and Mr.Frimpong who officially declared his intentions to contest the primary was the first to pick the forms.
Speaking in an interview with journalists after picking the forms, Mr Frimpong noted that the people in the Lower West Akim were yearning for the return of the NDC and that he believes that he ,is the best person to win the NDC parliamentary primaries and subsequently wrestle the parliamentary seat from the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) to improve their economic challenges facing them.
This, he said was because he has the experience to lead and implement people-centered policies to help ameliorate economic hardships facing teeming population in the constituency.
The young business mogul made his intentions to contest known when he met all the requirements of the NDC.
Mr Frimpong received a massive endorsement from the delegates and  members of the National Democratic Congress in the area.
 
Mr Frimpong who doubles as Chief Executive of the Darling Boy Fan Club has begun winning endorsement of influential members and delegates of the party after toured hundred and thirty four (134) branches within the Lower West Akim Constituency to solicit for the support of the delegates and members of the NDC of the branches to contest the incoming party’s parliamentary race.
 
However, all the branch executives of the NDC in the constituency have given the green light to Mr Frimpong to pick the nomination forms to contest the parliamentary race after they carefully listening to his visionary messages.
 
All the branch executives of the NDC in the constituency have pledged their unflinching support to Mr Frimpong and declared their readiness to work to get him elected as NDC Parliamentary candidate for the area to lead them in the 2024 general elections.
Some of the branch executives purportedly stated that they believe in the competence of Mr Frimpong to wrestle the Lower West Akim parliamentary seat from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The NDC announced the opening of nominations for the election of its Presidential and Parliamentary candidates for the 2024 General Elections.
The three-day exercise kick-starts the processes for the final leg of the party’s internal elections to elect a presidential and parliamentary candidates for the NDC slated for May 13, 2023 to contest on the ticket of the party in the 2024 general election.
Aspiring parliamentary candidates are to pick nomination forms via the NDC website at a cost of GH¢5000 which must be paid via Mobile Money while the presidential aspirants are required to pick nomination forms directly from the office of the General Secretary of the party and pay a fee of GH¢30,000 via banker’s draft.
However, female aspirants and persons with physical disabilities would be required to pay only 50 per cent of the fee charged.
The exercise, which begins today, would end on Friday, February 24, 2023.
