An organizer of Arise Ghana demonstration, Mr. Bernard Mona, has accused the police of denying legal access to the 29 persons who were arrested yesterday during the chaos.
He indicated that the attempt made by their lawyers to engage the arrested protesters has proved futile stressing that they will do anything possible to reach out to the arrested colleagues.
"We are very unhappy that the Ghana Police service is denying us access to the 29 protesters arrested yesterday, lawyer Amaliba and others have gotten to the police headquarters and they would not allow them to meet these innocent people of police brutality", he said.
"This is not democracy for the protested to be denied the right to counsel", he added.
For his part, the National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Joshua Akamba has advised protesters not to throw stones or use weapons against the police on demonstration grounds.
He noted that the protesters should hand over any weapon at their disposal to the police stressing that protestors should report any suspicion of anyone in possession of armor to ensure peace during the demonstration.

"I want the protesters to be safe and have a peaceful country," he noted.
Reacting to the demonstration of the group, the Minister of Information, Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says it is a deliberate attempt of some persons to create instability in Ghana.
Speaking on Accra-based Metro TV, he noted that there was a group who wanted to go on a demonstration with weapons and there was another group who wanted to go on demonstration at night.
He maintained that this is a clear obvious attempt by some people to create instability in the country and this should be dealt with.
"We have people attacking police in a broad daylight at Obra sport here in Accra, can we imagine what could have happened if the police had allowed them(Arise Ghana) to do the demonstration at night," he quizzed.
