Kumawood actor, Oteele has disclosed why has lost a lot of weight in recent times.

The actor, who is sometimes called 'fat joe' just because of his sheer size, explained that he lost a lot of weight during the lockdown period as things were not financially okay with him.

According to the actor, he had a lot of things to worry about during that particular period. Citing Claudius in Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ - ‘When sorrows come, they come not single spies, but in battalions’- he revealed that his beloved sister had died of diabetes during that period.

He made known that he could not receive donations to offset the bills of his sister's demise because of the ban on public gathering, therefore no one was there to donate money to him as he held a private burial.

“She died on 2nd March. She was sick. We spent so much on her hoping she'd recover but unfortunately she died. We were told she died of diabetes,” the Kumawood legend disclosed in an interview with Delay.

“I was the one paying for the expenses because our parents had divorced. He was a soldier. When they divorced, our mother went to her hometown and our father stayed at Abuakwa. We stayed with him. He died later." 

“We [the children] were the only people left in the house he built. I’m the only one who, so to speak, is famous so I’m called to lead the path whenever the need arises. The burden and the pressure it came with was unbearable. That’s how I lost weight,” he narrated.
