The head pastor of Heaven’s Gate Ministry, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, has pleaded with the government to fully lift the ban on public gatherings so that Ghanaians can attend church to pray for the survival of Ghana through these perilous times.

He said this in a phone interview with Rev. Nyansa Boakwa on Happy FM’s religious and social program Nsem Pii. He pointed out that if the safety precautions are enough to save a country then sophisticated regions like America would be completely safe by now.

“The government should allow us to go to church to pray because, with God, all things are possible as said in Luke 1:37. God listens to the prayers of his children so if there’s a pandemic like this, we must not copy what others are doing."

"You made us believe that social distancing, washing our hands, wearing nose masks and using hand sanitizers is what will prevent the spread of the virus but if it was so, America and Italy wouldn’t have recorded 5000 and 3000 deaths in a day,” he said.

According to him, the safety protocols are needed, but prayers are needed more to ensure that Ghana is coronavirus free.

“If you read James chapter 5:13-17, it says that the prayer of the righteous can do a lot but in Ghana, if you say what you think is right and it is in favor of a political party, they will sew and clothe you in a political suit and say you are in support of them. This is why a lot of pastors cannot complain” he concluded.
