Old Lady, Two Others Caged For Allegedly Selling A Child Who Was Killed For Ritual At Dutch-Komenda

The Elmina District Police Command in the Central Region have stated that they have received information that, a male child aged about two years, suspected to be a child of special needs has been buried alive at the shores of Dutch-Komenda.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Central Regional Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Inspector Evans Ettie, on receipt of the report police proceeded to the crime scene and with the help of the Assembly Member of Dutch -Komenda electoral area, Mr. Cosmos Bassaw, and the youth rescued the boy.
The senior officer stated that the preliminary investigation gathered revealed that due to the impairment of the boy, the parents from Komenda and Abrobeano consulted a spiritualist at Dutch-Komenda to get rid of the child.
Meanwhile, Police have arrested the mother, age 29 years, the father, age 37 years, and the grandfather, aged 70 years, as those who are suspected to have conspired to commit the crime and are in police custody assisting in the investigation.
He noted that the victim was sent to Kissi Health Centre and was treated and discharged.
However, frantic efforts are underway to get the ritualist, Kweku Bar, who is on the run apprehended.
