The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nzema East Municipal Assembly in the Western Region, Madam Dorcas Elizabeth Amoah on Friday June  17, 2022 made a donation of GH¢ 2000 to Madam Lydia Mensah at Brawire, a suburb  of Axim to support her to revamp her fish mongering business after her fish smoking  shed got burnt in January this year.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nzema East Municipal Assembly in the Western Region, Madam Dorcas Elizabeth Amoah on Friday, June  17, 2022, donated GH¢ 2000 to Madam Lydia Mensah at Brawire, a suburb of Axim to support her revamp of her fish mongering business after her fish smoking shed got burnt in January this year.

It will be recalled that early this year, a fire engulfed her shed with 10 smoking ovens in the night. 
With the support of the neighbors and the stationed personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the fire was put off with it spreading to surrounding sheds and buildings.

The MCE was accompanied by personnel from the Municipal Assembly and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) coordinator and some NPP constituency executives. 

The MCE advised Madam Lydia and other fish mongers present to be careful in dealing with fire and desist from keeping gallons of premix in their sheds to prevent any possible fire outbreak.
The Presiding Member of the Assembly was present to witness the event. 
He supported by thanking the Assembly for the great move and also advised Madam Lydia against fire outbreak if negligence is given way.
For his part, Madam Lydia thanked the MCE and her team for their support and promised to use the money wisely to improve her fish-smoking business.
