NPP Primaries: The last day strategy is what worked for Dr. Kingsley Nyarko - Vincent Frimpong Manu
Vincent Frimpong Manu - Parliamentary aspirant

The Chief Executive Officer of Middle Belt Development Authority, Mr. Vincent Frimpong Manu says failure to map out a concluding strategy to win the attention of delegates is what contributed to his loss in the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary primaries in the Kwadaso constituency on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.

The parliamentary aspirant disclosed that the approach employed by fellow candidates although were dishonorable yet it has rewarded their expectations as compared to his fertile manifesto towards delegates fostered to improve the standard of living of constituents.

“I campaigned all over but the disappointing event was when delegates were camped two days to elections by my fellows. The last day strategy is what worked for others. We’ll hope to improve ours next time,” he said whiles briefing the press concerning his loss.

“They were nowhere to be found to accept gifts and hear any final messages from my camp.

“In fact, delegates attested that our message was the best and we indeed made the needs of residents in Kwadaso our key priority in our campaign. It’s about service to the constituency and this loss will not hinder me from keeping up what I’ve been doing to help them,” he added.

Mr. Vincent Frimpong Manu obtained 48 votes to claim the final spot whiles incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah recorded 158 votes, losing his position to Dr. Kingsley Nyarko by 14 votes (he won by 178 votes).

Irrespective of his loss, Mr. Vincent has promised to continue supporting the community and help to improve the electoral process in the foreseeable future. On whether he will contest as a parliamentary aspirant, again, he refused to deny but established that “it is too early to decide”.

“I will also help us to improve our electoral process to bring peace next time.

“If the need arise for me to keep contesting as a candidate to represent Kwadaso in parliament in the near future, why not? But it is too early to decide. Whatever I can do to help the Kwadaso Community, I have to do,” he added.

He finally acknowledged Dr. Kingsley Nyarko for the victory and promised to help him with ideas if he demands it.

“I congratulate Dr. Nyarko for his victory. We contested in 2016 and he was fifth. Today he is the winner and I have hope that it will be my turn at the right time. I have tried contacting him but he is out of reach. I hope that he will call back.

“What matters most now is the 2020 campaign for the NPP to retain power. I will support Dr. Nyarko with my strategies and plans ahead of the upcoming polls.”
