'NPP Is Committed In  Reducing Emissions  From Energy Products'

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, has assured Ghanaians that NPA is committed in reducing emissions from energy products in Ghana.
Speaking at the Ghana International Petroleum Conference 2022 under the theme:Energy Transition in the African Petroleum Downstream Context:Prospects,Challenges and the Way Forward, Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid said the Authority as part of it's commitment has introduced a lot of policies for carbon-dioxide free country.
The three days Conference is Organised by the National Petroleum Authority(NPA) in collaboration with the Ghana Chamber of Bulk Distributors(CBOD) and under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy.
According to him, energy Transition is the Pathway toward transformation of the global energy sector from fossil-based fuel to zero carbon and every country on earth is obliged to reach the net zero by 2050.
On behalf of the Sector Minister, deputy minister for Energy incharge of Power,William Owureku Aidoo said the sector has outlayed a roadmap to de-carbonised the energy sector to reach the net zero emissions by 2070.
According to the Afigya Kwabre South lawmaker,added that the ministry is putting in place the necessary fundamentals to ensure,LPG,Natural Gas and Hydrogen Gas to play a major role in Ghana's energy sector.
"We believe in the absence of electric vehicles for mas transportation and private use,bio fuels blend can reduce emissions currently on our road" he quizzed.
