THE NATIONAL Elections Committee of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has finally vetted the General Secretary hopeful of the NPP, Mr. Charles Onuawonto Bissue ahead of the party’s upcoming National Executives Committee (NEC) elections.
Mr. Bissue who is a member of the Council of the NPP has excelled himself in the vetting which was held on Monday, June 20, 2022.
He showcased his vast political experiences and skills to prove his levels of competence to the National Elections Committee in the vetting that he is the only best candidate for the delegates and members of the party to be elected as their new General Secretary to help manage the NPP effectively to improve upon its electoral fortunes.
The two terms former Western Regional Secretary further demonstrated to the committee that it is now the time for the delegates of the NPP to vote massively for him to win the slot since he has the capacity of breaking the eight in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with journalists in
the NPP national headquarters in Accra, Mr. Bissue stated emphatically that he has th capacity to lead the NPP to victory in the 2024 general elections.
He stressed that his vast experience in party politics had attested to the fact that he was more capable or qualified to be elected the new NPP General Secretary to help the party win the 2024 polls.
Additionally, Mr. Bissue asserted that though the NPP in its current state was efficient, it was not effective enough to retain political power in 2024 and beyond.
“NPP is efficient now but it’s not effective. Being efficient is not enough for me. It needs to be effective,” he said.
According to him, this calls for new and versatile leaders to drive the needed change the party so desired.
“The party needs a breadth of fresh air… wants to break the eight, and the government had done well. We have a good message, but we need to change the messengers,” he stressed.
Mr. Bissue assured of an “inclusive and sustainable collaboration between the party and the government if given the nod to be elected the new General Secretary of the NPP.
