NPP Brings E-Levy  Education to  Citizens' Doorstep

As part of efforts by the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP to educate and sensitize the general public about the importance and benefits of the proposed electronic transfer levy E-Levy tax, the communications department, as well as the youth wing of the NPP, has embarked on a Citizens Forum to make sure every single Ghanaian understands the E-Levy.
Speaking to the media during one of such engagements at Nima in the Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, the National Nasara Coordinator of NPP, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Futa, reiterated the numerous benefits the citizens stand to enjoy if the E-Levy is accepted.
Explaining further, Alhaji Futa said the introduction of the E-Levy by the government will bring development to our communities and the entire economy.
He recalled during the NDC era, the then government could not pay for Allowances due to health workers, cancellation of Teacher Training Allowance, and the infamous 'dumsor' that run for years without solution, as some of the challenges that arise s a result of a broken economy.
Alhaji Futa stated that the government relies on taxes for the running of the economy and hence the need for the E-Levy.
He sighted the example of the restoration of the canceled Allowances, constant electric power supply as well as the introduction of the popular free SHS policy amongst and the construction of road network, other infrastructural developments amongst others as some of the benefits the citizens enjoy by paying taxes.
For his part, National Youth Wing Administrator of NPP, Nana Asafo-Adjei Area stated that the party, taught it wise to complement the government's efforts through town hall meetings to educate the populace about the economic benefits of the E-Levy.
The Administrator observed that there have been numerous falsehoods and misconceptions being masterminded by the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC about the E-Levy and so the need for sensitization of the citizenry by reaching out to every Ghanaian residing in every part of the country.
In a related development, the team met with the public at the Isreal-Chintan lorry park located within the Okaikoi North Constituency in Greater Accra Region.
During the meeting, the National Youth Organiser of the NPP, Mr. Henry Nana Boakye admonished the citizens to disregard any falsehood being peddled by naysayers who do not have any alternative solutions.
He seized the opportunity to urge the populace to rally behind the government in its quest for development and economic transformation. 
He also encouraged the gathering to, in turn, educate their fellow citizens about the economic benefits of the E-Levy while the government takes strategic economic decisions in managing the economy for the betterment of Ghana.
