NPP 2024 Flagbearer Race: I am Not In Alan Kyerematen Camp –Asabee Clears Air

Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, popularly known as Asabee, has denied a wide spread media reports to the effect that he has endorsed the 2024 New Patriotic Party’s flagbearership bid for the current Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.

Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, popularly known as Seabee, has denied a widespread media reports to the effect that he has endorsed the 2024 New Patriotic Party’s flagbearership bid for the current Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.

According to the immediate past Director-General of the State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA), Mr. Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, he is not in support of Mr. Alan Kyerematen, who is seeking to lead the party in the 2024 elections.
 
There have been reports that Asamoah-Boateng is operating from the camp Alan Kyerematen following the former's alien with the former President John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor whom many have tagged 'Alan's political father'.
But, in a reaction on Accra-based Angel Television on Thursday, June 23, 2022, monitored by Noah Boateng, Mr... Asamoah Boateng, refuted the claims, saying "there's no iota of truth in allegations that I belong to the camp of Alan Kyeremanten."
He pointed out that since Mr. Alan Kyerematen is his good friend and they moved together, it doesn't mean that he has declared his support for him to lead the NPP in the 2024 general elections.
 
Mr. Asamoah Boateng was sharply reacting to the question being asked by the host of the interview of Angel Television, Madam Angel FM's Nana Yaa Brefo to the effect he is in the camp of Mr. Alan Kyerematen.
 
He stressed that the claims have no clear basis as according to him, he is on good terms with all the potential flagbearers in the party.
He urged the NPP supporters to disregard the rumors and stated that having being vying for the position of the new chairmanship of the party he aims were on how to urge many delegates of the party to vote for him massively to win the slot and concentrate on what will bring victory to the NPP in the 2024 general elections.
He also used the opportunity to call on newly elected regional executives and their contenders to come together and ensure they put the past behind them going forward.
The potential National Chairman hopeful of the NPP maintained that bridging the gap between the Government and grassroots will secure the party’s victory in 2024.
He said when the communication gap was destroyed, foot soldiers of the party would not have access to the opportunities they deserved.
“We need to connect with foot soldiers as a party, consider the work they do on the grounds, and prioritize their welfare at all levels.”
Mr. Asamoah Boateng told Angel FM's Nana Yaa Brefo that he had the right experience, approach, and processes that will enable the party to win the upcoming general elections when given the nod.
He described himself as the right-field commander to lead and manage the party towards breaking the eight agenda and promised to create a robust welfare fund for the NPP.
M..Amoah Boateng that the party can stay in power for long if they build a highly resourceful one that will be able to attend to the welfare needs of the party members.
"My main objective is to help build a strong party from the grassroots by creating a robust Welfare Fund with seed money from the businessmen and women who are benefiting directly from the contracts from the government to be used for the welfare needs of the party members including the polling station and constituency executives, regional and national officers, communicators, the serial callers, and other party members who put their lives on the line for the party.
“By so doing, our party can be in power for a long time to transform the country for the betterment of all Ghanaians, so that is one of my priorities when given the nod” he stressed
Mr. Asamoah Boateng, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party, noted that this can be done, it should be done, and he is ready to do it if voted into office as the National  Chairman because he has the expertise and contacts required for raising funds to support party activities as he has done before."
“I have what it takes to lead the party’s victory in 2024, the coming election is a watershed as our opponent NDC wants to come back and we also want to maintain power,” he added.
He stated that the party needed a strong leadership that could engage Ministers and appointees of the party to find solutions to the current crisis for victory in 2024.
He revealed that the NPP was the best in terms of managing the economy but was recovering from some setbacks and called for patience while the issues were being fixed.
Mr. Asamoah Boateng noted that the party needed new energy and tough people to take tough decisions for the betterment and general well-being of all.
 He stated that solid structures and reforms needed to be built to steer affairs of the party putting the grassroots into consideration as they do all the dirty works in their various constituencies.
Outlining his key strategies, he revealed that his intention was building a 60/ 40 agenda that would focus on party members having a say in the appointment of members for various positions.
He intended to pursue the agenda to allow the party negotiates forty percent of appointments by the party and sixty to the President and his core team.
The Aspiring National Chairman noted that the ‘Breaking the Eight’ agenda was not about big English but communicating and explaining government projects and programs to the people.
He said ensuring unity was imperative in the victory process and therefore called on party foot soldiers to be calm and support the party even in tough times because they will soon be rewarded. 
Mr. Asamoah Boateng said he was contesting to build the party at all levels starting from polling station to Constituency, then Regional, build finances, ensure women empowerment and youth improvement among others to help make the party stronger.
He maintained that "Making me NPP national chairman will win us 2024 elections, adding that he has a clear-cut plan to help the NPP win the 2024 polls.
Some other party members who are contesting the National Chairmanship position include Prof. Ameyaw Akumfi, Mr. Abankwah Yeboah, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, and Robert Kutin Jnr.
The NPP  has set July 14 to July 16, 2022, to hold its national elections ahead of the 2024 elections.
A one-time National Campaign Manager of the NPP, Peter Mac Manu, has said the party has the right men with the right sense of purpose to win the 2024 general elections.
He has thus called for unity in the party to break the eight.
“We have a great task ahead of us, but we will do it because we have what it takes to win an election. We have the men and women to do the job. We have the duty of purpose and the development agenda that President Nana Addo and his government are bequeathing to the nation from social infrastructure etc. So going into 2024, I am confident that NPP will move Ghana forward," re-echoed.
