Ghanaian gospel singer, Kobby Salm has stated that Ghanaians don't have much love for gospel artistes as they do for secular artistes.

He stated that despite his achievement of collaborating with a Grammy-nominated artist on one of his many tracks, no one on the music scene has hyped him.

The "Obiara Nse Wo” hitmaker posited that if a secular artiste had managed to do what he did, the whole media scene would have gone ablaze with the news.

Kobby Salm said this in an interview with Ameyaw TV while talking about his new album, “In the Midst of Comfort”. It was then that he mentioned he scored a feature with Grammy-award winning gospel artist, Canton Jones.

He lamented that if Shatta Wale or Sarkodie had done something like that, the media would have considered it as "news-worthy" but since he's just an ordinary gospel artiste his work has been labelled as insignificant.

“I sat to think about why a secular artist will feature a Grammy-nominee, the whole industry will go crazy about it but we did this feature and nobody is talking about it.
“Is it because of the genre we do? Regardless, we’re still putting Ghana on the map,” he added.

He also has explained the concept behind the video for his “Obiara Nse Wo” video.

The artiste stated that he has gotten a lot of negative feedback from the visuals since its release because a lot of people have tagged it as being related to the Illuminatti.

He admitted that although people might misunderstand, he was just trying to express the gospel in a creative way.
