No PPEs for schools in Eastern Region

Basic schools in the Eastern Region of twenty percent have not received the government's personal protective equipment (PPEs).

The government of Ghana pledged to distribute PPEs to schools ahead of reopening on January 15th, 2021 after a lockdown early last year.

Although over 22 million pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) and sanitary items have been distributed in the schools,20 percent of schools in the Eastern Region are yet to have their share.

Among the schools is Asiedukrom M/A Basic School in the Arsene Manso Akroso Municipal, Kwamoso in the Akuapem North, Kwahu Onyemso D/A Basic school, Lower Manya Krobo schools and, Kwahu North schools.

Pupils who have nose mask share with friends a situation which could spread the disease faster should one of them contract it.
