No Potable Drinking  Water In Nsawam  Medium Prison - Assistant Director Cries Out
The handling of a mechanized borehole water facility in the Nsawam Female Prisons being constructed by the leading woman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Fati Amadu has generally exposed teething challenges of the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons.

According to the Assistant Director for the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons Madam Sophia Osei Bonsu, the facility has lacked enough potable drinking water to facilitate daily activities.
According to the Assistant Director, water is life but it's one of the major challenges facing officers and inmates in the Nsawam Medium Prisons.

She hinted that, although the government has provided some boreholes when it's been opened the pressure of Flow is always low and officers find it difficult to get water for household chores.
"Sometimes, officers and inmates struggle in hours before getting a bucket of water to bathe or do other activities after waking up at dawn, she asserted.

"If officers failed to wake up at dawn to get water for bathing how can they take good care of the inmates in safe custody," she asked.

Madam Bonsu mentioned this to Soireenews.com when NPP's Hajia Fati handed over a mechanized borehole and renovated the Nsawam female prison facility yesterday.
Madam Bonsu was appreciative of the gesture and called for more support for inmates and officers of the prisons.
She expressed her profound gratitude to Hajia Fati Amadu for the renovation of the female prison facility as well as for providing them with a mechanized borehole that will reduce the struggles some officers go through on daily basis.
She, therefore, appealed to the general public, corporate institutions, and non-governmental organizations to come to their aid and support them with boreholes.
For her part Hajia Fati Amadu popularly known as "Allegation" has
renovated some dilapidated structures of the facility as well as providing them with potable water is optimistic about the situation and decided to help.

According to the NPP stalwart, this is part of giving back to society and supporting the needy and the less privileged in the prison yard.
Speaking to the media, the Special Aid to the NPP stalwart  Dr. Steven Charles Okyere says the gesture is not the first of its kind since the NPP'S stalwart has done and will continue to do more to support society.
Dr. Steven Charles Okyere has highlighted the numerous support the NPP Stewart Hajia Fati has over the years rendered to both government and private institutions.

He disclosed that Hajia Fati donated chargeable motorbikes to the Ghana police service, donated foodstuff and an unspecified amount of money to the National Chief Imam, donated foodstuff as well as two mechanized boreholes to Awutu Bawjiase Countryside Orphanage home, and many other donations.
