No One Promised Me Any Political Role - Samini

Samini has trashed the news that he has been betrayed by the Akufo-Addo government.

It was rumoured that the artiste voiced his displeasure after Akufo-Addo did not consider him for a ministerial position as a reward for his endorsement in the previously concluded elections.

The dancehall guru has now denied those rumours in a statement made on his Instagram page.

According to him, he does not feel disappointment on any level since it was never an option for him to enter into the political arena.

He disclosed that the poster of his aspirations that were being passed around are fake and not from him.

"It has come to my notice that some unscrupulous people are drawing my name into needless political debates. Please be informed that I have neither made any comments regarding my disappointment or otherwise of a political position nor declared my intent to run for office anywhere. NO ONE has promised me any political role and I am not anticipating any call up whatsoever to that effect."

Much as it is in everyone’s interest to serve his nation should the opportunity arise, I think we should all condemn needless and childish political gimmicks that pitch one tribe against the other. It is sentiments like those that ignited the Rwanda genocide and I strongly condemn it!"

"Please disregard any social media post that suggests that I plan to take political office or expressed disappointment at any party or political figure for whatever reason. Should I ever consider running for office, I will make it known via official public statements on my official handles.
Thank you." He wrote.

Samini has now asked the general public to disregard the fake news as he would personally communicate his own aspirations should he change his mind to run for office.

He finally noted that he has not pledged political allegiance to the New Patriotic Party, therefore he is still open to getting tickets from any party.
