Neymar has exposed that winning the Champions League is his topmost priority as compared to the Ballon d’Or and he will do everything within his power to win the trophy with Paris Saint Germain this season.

The Brazilian has revealed that the European achievement is what he wants to be remembered with hence his interest in winning more with his current club.

Neymar has a Champions League trophy in his cabinet after conquering Europe with Barcelona. The 29-year old won the continental treble of La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League, and finished third for the FIFA Ballon d'Or in 2015 for his performances.

According to him, winning with PSG is key in his career.

“My main objective is the Champions League and not the Ballon d'Or. That is not my main priority," he said.

“In the future, I need to be able to remember that I have won the Champions League once, twice or maybe three times.”

Paris Saint Germain play Pep Guardiola’s side in the Champions League semi-finals first leg on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at the Parc de Princes. The Brazilian missed out on the chance to win the trophy last season when Bayern won by a goal to nil at Lisbon in the final to clinch the trophy.

Having eliminated the reigning Champions by a 3-3 aggregates, PSG are considered as huge favourites to win the competition.

Neymar has, therefore, cautioned Pep Guardiola’s side that they will do everything to qualify into the finals of the competition and win it.

“We are going to do everything in our power to beat Manchester City. I will do everything, professionally speaking, to win this game.”
