New Catholic Diocese Bishop for Sewhi Wiawso Announced by Pope Francis.

The appointment of Very Rev. Fr. Samuel Nkuah Boateng as a bishop was announced concurrently in Rome, the National Catholic Secretariat in Accra and at the Our Lady of Annunciation Cathedral in Sehwi Wiawso of the Western North Region.

New Catholic Diocese Bishop for Sewhi Wiawso Announced by Pope Francis.

Pope Francis has announced a new Catholic Bishop for Sehwi Wiawso Diocese to replace Most Rev. Joseph Francis Essien who has served the position for the past 28 years.

The head of the Catholic Church, the bishop of Rome and the sovereign of the Vatican City state, Pope Francis, has nominated the former Cathedral Administrator of the Sehwi Wiawso Diocese, Very Rev Father Samuel Nkuah Boateng as the new Bishop for the Diocese. 

The appointment of Very Rev. Fr. Samuel Nkuah Boateng as a bishop was announced concurrently in Rome, the National Catholic Secretariat in Accra and at the Our Lady of Annunciation Cathedral in Sehwi Wiawso of the Western North Region.

The appointment also means Pope Francis has accepted Bishop Essien's resignation from office and pastoral care of the Sehwi Wiawso Diocese.

The Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, Most Rev. Henryk Mieczysaw Jagodzinski announced the selection of the new Bishop to the congregation at the Sehwi Wiawso Catholic Church. 

Most Rev. Fr. Henryk Jogodzinski also said Ghana, as a country has a big potential and Ghana, is not the first African country he has visited. He asserted that Ghana is developing very well but cannot be content with what it has gained over the past years. 

Most Rev. Henryk continued to urge the leaders of the country to put in more effort to make it happier for the youth to develop their talents and potential.

Some of the church members also expressed their joy when Very Rev. Fr Samuel Nkuah Boateng's name was mentioned as Bishop for Wiawso Diocese to help the church move from grace to grace.
