Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kade Constituency of the Eastern Region have described as a complete as a shameful and violation of the law the current movement of some aggrieved supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area to use a gun to threaten their colleague supporters in the area.
There was chaos at the Kade Constituency office of the NPP on Saturday, February over alleged hoarding of polling station forms.
Scores of party members hoping to contest the polling station election became stranded at the party’s office Saturday after they were denied access to the forms.
The situation created confusion leading to the alleged assault of one Kwasi Aboagye alias Aboma. An NPP man also allegedly pulled a gun to ward off the agitated party members.
It took the intervention of armed police from the Kade District Police command to restore law and order.
According to the members of the NDC, their attention been brought to a scuffle that broke among supporters of the NPP and the Kade Constituency Executives of the party on Saturday, February 19 2022 at the NPP's office at Kade that saw a gun alleged to have been used to threaten NPP supporters gathered at the forecourt of the office.
A press statement signed and issued by the NDC Communications Officer in Kade Constituency and copied to Soireenews.com condemned in no uncertain terms the use of guns by the supporters of the NPP as a tool to control violence and misunderstandings.
The statement noted that this act of misconduct is troubling and it has the potential of endangering any future elections. 
"We, however, call on the Ghana Police Service in a matter of urgency to investigate and punish all perpetrators involved in such an uncivil act.
"The NDC will follow the issue with all the seriousness it deserves until the law is applied," the statement noted.
The NDC in the statement explained that
failure of the police to take action on the issue will seriously have consequences in the 2024 elections.
