Honorable Afenyo Marking, Deputy Majority Leader of Parliament

The Deputy Majority Leader of Parliament, Honorable Afenyo Marking has condemned the willpower of the National Democratic Congress MPs to be entitled the majority of parliament earlier.

According to the representative of the Effutu constituency, the “position taken by the NDC was indeed alien to our standing orders.”

He revealed during a press conference after parliament suspended its first sitting where the Speaker of Parliament, Honorable Alban Bagbin served notice to Members of Parliament to be mindful of the sanctions of their conduct as people of honour and further declared NPP majority in Parliament.

Honorable Afenyo Marking reminded that the majority can do business in the house “with clarity of thoughts that with NPP caucus constitute the majority; and will therefore lead in the constitution of formation of committees as there are current standing orders.”

“And we want to also use this opportunity to assure our colleagues that we are going to have a parliament of coordination, it is not a winner takes all. This position has been echoed by his presidency the president and the right honorable speaker.”
