INCUMBENT CHAIRMAN of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Joseph Kobina Ade-Coker who is seeking for the re-election has begun winning endorsement of influential members and delegates of the party.
 
The election of the Greater Accra Regional chairmanship race has scheduled to be held tody, Sunday November 13, 2022.
 
 
The Soireenews.com has gathered from the corridors of the opposition party that Mr.Coker has been receiving calls from scores of NDC members throwing their weight behind him.
According to sources, many of the callers and visitors to Mr Coker’s office have pledged their unflinching support to him and declared their readiness to work to get him elected again as Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC.
Some of them purportedly stated that they believe in the competence of the NDC stalwart since he has what it takes to help the NDC to wrest power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and bring back the country's economy on a sound footing.
While wishing Mr Coker well, the NDC members reportedly hammered on the tramp card of Mr Coker as a old face with many political experiences and ideas, with international and local connections.
They indicated that the tenure of Mr Coker as the Greater Accra Regional Chairman has  “witnessed a massive support from the floating voters in the previous elections which has contributed to the both parliamentary and presidential voting results in the region.
“As the incumbent of the NDC in the region, Mr Coker has worked hard to re-energize and restructure the structures and foundations of the party and also win more parliamentary seats for the NDC in the 2020 general elections.
“There is no doubt in our mind that if Mr Coker is given the opportunity to retain his chairmanship position in today election, he will continue to bring to bear his vast experiences in politics to prevent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to achieve its agenda of breaking the eight years jinx," they assured.
However, speaking in an interview with some journalists on Saturday November 12, 2012, the visibly joyful called on the delegates to vote for the chairman who would always care for their lives.
Mr Coker shared what he said was a six-point plan, reaffirming that should he be elected as chairman, he plans to re-energise the NDC to go out and beat the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP emphatically in 2024 general election.
He sent messages to the delegates and members of the party in the region to make choice of voting massively for him to retain his chairmanship position to help bring back the NDC in the political power in 2025.
"The choice you make will determine how your government comes into power. In life you have to reward those who will shown that they are with you either rain or shine. The choice is yours," Mr Coker reiterated to the delegates.
He reiterated that the delegates should not allowed themselves to be influenced by the money or goodies by the other aspirants to vote for them, saying that they should vote and make the choice for who who would take good care of them in their lives in the future.
He further entreated the delegates that just as they sought leadership appointments to succeed, lead the party onto the path of growth and not to end up as opposition party executives, he was equally into the race of chairmanship to win and lead the NDC to the  victory.
Among other undertakings, Mr Coker promised to continue to resource party functionaries with timeous logistics to enable them carry out their mandates and plan effectively for party work.
He stated "Voting for me means no Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) will be appointed outside the constituency executive committee. Everybody knows your closeness with former President John Dramani Mahama, former Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, Advisor to former President John Dramani Mahama,  Dr Valerie Esther Sawyerr and NDC apparatchiks. I will serve your interest better than anybody’s else."
 
Mr Coker who is number two on the ballot paper called on the delegates and members of the NDC to rally behind him by way of voting massively for him to win the chairmanship position again to help bring back the NDC to political power in 2025.
He indicated that when he is elected he would establish election protection and support fund purposely for election 2024 because that election is a Do or "Die One or affair."
 
He pointed out that there is no need for the delegates and members of the NDC who would be voting in the incoming NDC internal regional executives election to change a winning team. 
"Under my leadership, the Regional Executive Committee has delivered and therefore we ought to be rewarded," he stated.
Mr Coker stressed that the 2024 general election cannot be for try me, explaining that  a new person will take about three years to settle but we have just about two years, asking "Why would you want to change the strategic commander."
He reassured that he would work hard to unite the region and ensure that there is no more father for all in the region.
He stressed that he would implement a number of reforms that would encourage participation and promote welfare of the members of the party. 
Additionally, he pledged that "I would also work to promote the transparency, unity, peace and accountability within the party and ensure that l would return the NDC to power 2025 if re-elected for the position."
Against this background, the NDC stalwart called on the delegates and members of the NDC to vote massively for him in the internal NDC regional executives election to retain the seat to help bring the former President John Dramani Mahama to the political power in the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Coker promised to continue to serve with a clear direction, focused vision,mission and an innovative bottom to top management approach when given the node.
He maintained that his desire to contest for the Greater Accra Regional chairmanship was due to the need to help in the winning of the 2024 general election and to propel former President John Dramani Mahama to the Presidency.
According to Mr Coker, "This is the desire of the floating voters and the good people of Ghana, adding that it is a calling from the party that I cannot ignore."
According to the NDC top shot, he has more experience than other prospective candidates on account of his third term experience as the regional chairman of the NDC.
"I am appealing to delegates and members of the NDC to endorse him by voting for him to win the seat because they are clear evidence that he has been instituting plans or strategies to mobilize resources effectively to improve the general well welfares of the members and supporters of the NDC in the grassroot levels in the region," Mr Coker stressed.
