NDC Communication Coordinators Angry At NEC For Changing Leadership In Parliament
The five Northern Communications Coordinators of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have condemned the conduct of the leadership of the NDC to effect changes in the minority leaders in Parliament.
According to them, their attention has been drawn to the changes that took place in parliament by the decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NDC leading to the removal of Honorable Haruna Iddrisu as the Minority Leader and Honorable Muntaka Mubarak as the Deputy Minority Leader of the 8th parliament of Ghana.
"We wish to state loud and clear without any equivocation that, we in the Northern and Zongo Communities have witnessed unfair treatment by the NDC as a political party. Honourable Haruna Iddrisu and Honourable Muntaka Mubarak have since remained the eyes of the Northerners and Zongo communities in parliament and we look forward to having a glorious future in politics.
"We have always been reminded about what the NPP tells us that the NDC had never and would never reward persons on loyalty and commitment but rather on a tribalistic and selfish basis, but now, this is exactly what is glaring at us. Must everyone in the NDC support the bid of former president H.E John Dramani Mahama?
"What offense have these two committed that could not be resolved? Mr. Koku Anyindo stated it crystal clear that should Mr. Asiedu Nketia win the chairmanship position,  he would remove Hon. Haruna Iddrisu as the Minority Leader because of their greedy interest. Truly, this is what has happened without even consulting Mr. Haruna Iddrisu on this. If the NEC decides to undertake changes, we ask the leadership of the NDC that, is Hon. Haruna Iddrisu not part of the NEC? Or do they want to tell us this NEC is a different one?Does it mean that no Muslim is qualified to represent us in the party's leadership? , the communication coordinators of the NDC in the Northern Region rethorically asked.
This was contained in a statement copied to the Soirreenews com,, the five communication coordinators in the persons of Oti Regional Coordinator, Jorgah Abubakar Nuhu, Northern Regional coordinator, Mr. Jabir Ibrahim, Savannah Coordinator, Alh.Bismark Ibrahim Seidu, North East coordinator, Alhassan Tiibe, Upper East coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Dore, National Coordinator, Abdul Mumin Abagje and Upper West coordinator, Babarin Amidu Sulley.

They pointed out that these religious biases would not happen in the NPP and can never happen. We are more satisfied by the love and concern of the NPP than the NDC, adding that example Vice President, Zongo development fund and even our children benefits from the free S.H.S etc.
They cited some instances that the NDC had looked down on us the northerners, we remember very well that, that was the same attitude portrayed on Mr. Bagbin, the current Speaker of Parliament, disallowing him to contest as a flag bearer in the previous primaries and now, it is honorable Haruna and Muntaka turn too.
They asked the NEC of the NDC if their decisions are taken to benefit the party or if they take decisions that would serve their greedy and unwarranted interests.
They stressed that "What criteria did Chairman Asiedu Nketia ( Chairman mosquito)  use to ascertain these assertions that Hon. Haruna Iddrisu is incompetent when it comes to the Economy? Has the Minority Leader not allowed a fair play of role in parliament?
"Are they not the very people who secured countless victories for the party?
Does it mean that all this while the NDC have seen these lawmakers as people who are not trustworthy and never told them anything but just to humiliate and embarrass them like that?
"Is it that all the acquisition Hon. Haruna Iddrisu as pass Minority put on Majority is to frustrate the country?, they further asked.
Well, this should send a signal to our fellow Northerners and Zongo members to know that, if this is how the NDC would always continue to treat our very own who are leaders badly, then what better hallmark can we as mere supporters of the party leave for? We believe these wouldn't have been given room if Mr. Haruna and Mr. Mubarak were in NPP.
They expressed their disappointment to the leadership of the NDC and let them understand that, "we the Northerners and  Zongo communities are not satisfied with such conduct and so we want to send this warning to the leadership to reinstate Mr. Haruna Iddrisu and Honourable Muntaka Mubarak as Minority leaders or they face our wrath and forget it in 2024."
They stressed that "If such is not done, we shall advise ourselves.
