National Youth Authority held Maiden Edition of Northern Youth and Mentor’s Achievers Award.

In addressing the public, Hon. Pius Enam Hadzide said a percentage of 73.5% of Ghana's population is Children and Youth who therefore form an overwhelming majority of the general populace of the country.

National Youth Authority held Maiden Edition of Northern Youth and Mentor’s Achievers Award.

The Northern regional Department of National Youth Authority under the leadership of Mr. Mumuni Sulemana has held an awards scheme at the University for Development Studies of Tamale Campus to honor the Northern Youth and Mentors

 The event was under the supervision of the Honourable Pius Enam Hadzide who is the Chief Executive Officer of National Youth Authority.

In addressing the public, Hon. Pius Enam Hadzide said, a percentage of 73.5% of the Ghana's population are Children and Youth  who therefore form an overwhelming majority of the general populace of the country.

The CEO added that, if the country is able to absorb this population, the country will reap of a demographic dividends.

On his part, Hon. Mahama Shaibu Obei, the former Member of Parliament for Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency who also doubles as the Aide to the Ghana's Speaker of Parliament represented the Rt. Hon. Alban S.K Bagbin, said the Youth are the assets of this country which made him so elated about the maiden edition of such a program to held in the Northern part of the country.

In addition he said, every developmental initiative that you will need to engage in must start from the Youth, such as youth Development and Youth Employment initiatives which draws the youth in a positive ways in creating changes in our country.

Some of the awardees included, Nakeeyat Dramani (Poet), Dr. Arnold Mashud (Youth Advocate), Mr. Ibrahim Mahama (Artist), Hon. Clara Napag Tia Sulemana ( Female Political Icon), Mr. Mubarak Wakaso (Sports Icon) and among many others.

The occasion was graced by traditional rulers, the clergy, students, and stakeholders grace the event that was highlighted to motivate the youth to do more for the country.
