As part of measures to regulate schools and get a clean educational system, the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) has engaged players and major stakeholders of education in the Obuasi Municipality.

Speaking at the back of the event to ABN's Chukwu Joseph, the inspector general of schools, Hilda Hagar Ampadu explained that the move is part of the Education regulators Act that was passed by parliament on August 26, 2020 (Education regulators Act 1023) which mandates the board to license pre-tertiary schools in the country.

She said, many engagements have been done in the Nation's capital, but in order to get every person on board they're spreading their wings to other regions.

Mrs Ampadu further disclosed that it's very important for school owners to get license from the Authority so it will improve the standings of the school.

She further detailed that any school owner who refuses to acquire a certificate for their school can be fine with nothing less than GH₵12,000 cedis starting from January 2021 as the law requires that such person be charged with 1,000 penalty units or more where one penalty unit equals GH₵12.

The event was attended by Proprietors, School Owners, Headteachers Teachers and students last Friday.
