A local radio station in Asunafo North Municipality of the  Ahafo Region, Nananom FM has been robbed by unknown persons.

Thieves who broke into the building stormed away with assets of the station leaving behind a generator set, chair's, console and transmitter.

Speaking to the General Manager of the Station, Mr Eric Annor Boateng, he disclosed the incident happened at 16:30  during the weekend.

The station said to be owned by Asutifi South Member of Parliament and a former Works and Housing Minister Collins Dauda,  in the Ahafo Regional Capital town of Goaso was closed on Friday, March 19, 2019, for breaching licence regulations as management has terminated contracts of security officers except for one-night officer.

Although the National Commission Authority has said the exercise would be conducted throughout the country without restriction to ensure that all FM stations in the country meet the laid down licensing rules yet it has been accused of acting in bad faith.

The owner of Nananom FM  Honorable Collins Dauda has earlier told pressmen in an interview that his outfit had settled all fees it was required so the shutdown came as a surprise.

The General Manager, Mr Boateng has pleaded to Nana Akuffo Addo and National Communication Authority to give the green light for operation adding that it inactiveness is key to the robbery incident.
