NADMO Warns Public on Food Products in the Market Ahead of Christmas.

According to the Ga East Municipal NADMO Director, Seth Kofi Osei Kissi, the initiative is to ensure the safety of the public during the Christmas festivities.

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has warned consumers to be wary of the kind of food items they will buy from the market during the Christmas festive season.

NADMO says this is because some retailers and importers are sells unwholesome products to unsuspecting consumers during such festive seasons which can be harmful to their health.
 
The Ga East Municipal NADMO Directorate made this known after they seized some expired products from the open market, supermarkets, marts and shops at Taifa in the Dome Kwabenya enclave of the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The products they seized includes body creams, soft and hard drinks, food products such as canned beef, tin tomatoes, mayonnaise and salad creams through an operation led by NADMO officials to protect the safety of the consumers during this period of festivities.

According to the Ga East Municipal NADMO Director, Seth Kofi Osei Kissi, the initiative is to ensure the safety of the public during the Christmas festivities.

He said, the operation was carried out in some hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, market places and ware houses to trace for unwholesome items and products that will be offering for sale.

Speaking during the exercise, Mr. Seth Kofi Osei Kissi stated that, there were expired food products on the shelves of some shops, restaurants, hotels and among others places that needs urgent attention address the issue.

Adding that, his outfit will not be reluctant to search in the market to fish out unwholesome goods and expired products selling to consumers.
