A farmer, in his 50s, has severely been attacked by a mysterious swarm of bees over the weekend at Pukrom Nsabaah, in the Akuapem South District of the Eastern region of Ghana.

The farmer was only identified as Opanin Kusi but his nickname is Kanawu in Pukrom Nsabaah, a farming community in between Akuapem South district and Nsawam Adoagyirir Municipality in the Eastern region and currently receiving treatment at Nsabaah CHP compound following his attempt to pick out some beehives for honey.

According to Nana Ampem Darko, an eyewitness, Opanin Kusi was attacked by the bees after he tried to collect some of the bees hives on his farm and was chased to his house, adding that he had covered his face and some parts of the body.

Additionally, Nana Ampem Darko opined, that the mysterious bees chased Kanawu to his home and upon reaching home, the bees attacked him until he fell on the ground helplessly.
 
He emphasized, that the swarm of bees immediately disappeared after Kanawu, the farmer felt unconscious.

Members of the family who were present at the time used local means to resuscitate Opanyin Kusi by pouring water on him but to no avail and immediately rushed the victim to the nearby CHP compound where he is currently receiving treatment, he added.

Nana Darko continued, that at the Pukrom Nsabaah CHP compound, the nurses on duty quickly attended to him and subsequently regained his consciousness, and expected to be discharged very soon, he indicated.
