"My Marriage failed Because I lacked Understanding" - Elikem

Ghanaian actor and part time fashion designer, Elikem Kumordzie says his first marriage failed because he did not understand the concept of marriage explaining that he was too young and naive to grasp the basic truths of being tied to another. 

Elikem who recently tested negative for the COVID-19 after being subject to a mandatory quarantine set by the government for citizens that just returned to the country at the time of the country's lockdown was married to Zimbabwean socialite, Pokello Nare. 

"At the time of marriage, I was 26 – 27 and has not understood the concept of marriage because I was young but she might have more experience because she was 29 by then,” he revealed this during an Instagram live session with KOD.

“I don’t remember too well why we fell off but I think it has to do with long distance. There was this long period of time where things just went off. She has to be there [Zimbabwe] and I have to be here [Ghana ] and we just fell off,” he added

The actor got married to Pokello in 2015 after meeting with her on season 8 of the Big Brother Africa (The Chase) in 2013. Their marriage was instantly plagued by hardships barely two years down the line after they got married. 

He revealed that his age at the time was a massive factor, impressively taking the responsibility and blame for the failed attempt. He stated that he was just about 26 at the time and Pokello was 29.
