Ghanaian highlife artiste, Ackah Blay has highlighted the numerous challenges he has faced on his journey to becoming the artist he is today.

According to him, his father orchestrated his arrest simply because of his decision to do music while he was growing up, explaining that the decision to arrest him was made purely out of love because his father thought that his ambition to grow up was a pipe dream and that he would end up being mediocre at the end of the day.

His father was able to get the police to do his bidding because he was an Assistant Director at the Ghana Education Service (GES) and all he wanted was to see him be in school.

The ace guitarist revealed that his father was right to an extent.

He earlier admitted that he has seen the difficult being a Ghana musician first hand while speaking to Christian Agyei Frimpong on Channel R five years ago.

He lamented that although music is sweet in Ghana, it is tough to be a Ghanaian musician because the entertainment industry does not have any coherent structure.

"Structure is just a word which exists, but the things to make the structures work in our country are not available because of the mafia system. They think it will not favour them when it becomes successful,” he concluded.

This amongst others is the curse that every musician has to be in the country, according to Ackah Blay.
