A friend of the teacher, Charles Dankwa narrated that, while on their way home, they saw a man standing in a quiet dark area ahead of them making phone calls but suddenly heard the sound of a gunshot when they approached which both attempted to run helter-skelter for safety.

The mortal remains of a  murdered teacher of Okorase, who was also a mobile money agent and a general merchant shop owner at Koforidua – Okorase, has been laid to rest over the weekend, amidst calls by the family for an independent probe into his murder over a month ago.

Pupils, colleague teachers, of Behenase Roman Catholic Basic school, in the Akuapem North Municipality of the eastern region of Ghana, as well as sympathizers could not hold back their tears as the body was being moved to Breman-Asikuma in the Central Region where he was buried.

The 37-year-old teacher, Mr Solomon Prost Arhin was shot dead whilst returning home with his friend Charles Dankwa after closing from his extra general merchant shop and mobile money business on Saturday, June 20, 2021, at about 11:14 pm.

Charles Dankwa narrated that, while on their way home, they saw a man standing in a quiet dark area ahead of them making phone calls but suddenly heard the sound of a gunshot when they approached which both attempted to run helter-skelter for safety.

He was later informed at his hideout that Solomon Arhin has been shot dead in the chest.

Mohammed Shaibu a tenant in a house where the deceased fell and died after being shot said, he heard gunshots while in his room but a few minutes later he saw the victim running into the house shouting for help but came to see the victim lying in a supine position in a pool of blood wearing black shorts with a white shirt with gunshot wounds on the chest.

Two black backpacks containing cash of GHc8,290.30, One HP Laptop with charger, one Infinix Mobile Phone, One Itel Mobile phone, one Android mobile phone, two small itel mobile phone, on Pen drive, a modem, earpiece, and some bank documents were found lying beside the victim.

During the burial service, the Resident Minister of Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC-Koforidua) Pastor Musa Yahaya consoled the family with the word of God stating that God works in mysterious ways in doing greater things therefore the bereaved family should be comforted and continue to trust in the Lord.

He however admonished the family to take good care of the widow and the children.

The murdered Solomon Arhin was a teacher at Behenase Roman Catholic Basic School near Tinkon in Akuapem North Municipality. He was an avalanche Christian who fellowshipped with the Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC) of The Church of Pentecost in Koforidua.

He left behind two children, A Boy and a Girl and his pregnant wife.
