Budding dancehall artiste, J Derobie, has hit out at his critics who have been labeling his success a product of luck.

He narrated his own story while Speaking on Class91.3FM's Faisal Carter and Charley as he quenched rumors of him being "an overnight success". Derobie uttered disappointment at the sect who want to make it seem like he has not done his own fair share of hard work.

The product of Empawa explained that before he broke through the mold into the music industry after being selected Mr. Eazi’s Empawa100 music project, he had been working feverishly underground for three years.

“I did not get on Empawa so easily. It was hard work. I have also been underground since 2015… One thing, I will say, I did differently was that I love to learn more,” he told the hosts of the show.

He then further hailed the impact that Mr. Eazi and the other Empawa artistes have had on him since he began working with them.
