The Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency, Alhaji Haruna Seidu has cut sod for the construction of a 36-bed capacity male, female, and children wards at Buoku CHPS Compound in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.

The Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency, Alhaji Haruna Seidu has cut sod for the construction of a 36-bed capacity male, female, and children wards at Buoku CHPS Compound in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.

Honorable Alhaji Haruna Seidu expressed that after the completion of the project, the facility can be upgraded to a polyclinic status to serve the over five thousand people in the area and also put an end to a situation where both males and females are put in the same room on admission.

At a short ceremony for the sod cutting, the MP said, the project is expected to be completed in four months period.

He further explained that the project is being funded through his Health Insurance  Fund.

The Akwamu Hene of Buoku, Nana Owusu Achiaw on behalf of the Chief of the community, Nana Sarpong Kumannkomah, expressed their profound gratitude to the MP for the projects in the area.

He pledged their support to the MP for more projects to develop the area.

Adu Kwame Samuel, in charge of the Reproductive Health and Child Unit (RHC) at the facility, describes the projects as a great relief to healthcare delivery in the area.

He further appealed to the MP and the Wenchi Municipal Assembly to provide them with a weighing center.

He said the lack of a weighing center at the facility forced them to stop weighing children during the rainy season because they used to scale children under the trees surrounding the facility.
