Martha Ankomah has aimed a subtle dig at her colleagues leading fake lives.

Per her words, most artistes in Ghana try to paint a picture of lives that they don't live on social media just to impress people who don't care about them.

She cautioned that such lies would only serve to mislead the young ones into thinking that the media life is an easy life.

The actress said this Accra-based Kingdom FM.

“I see a lot on my social media page. Most people are living a fake life on social media."

"Some of us get things for free and so when we wear them, you can see that we are advertising and so if you do not post for the people who follow you to see that this woman is selling something and there is a young girl at home and you write hard work, you’re deceiving the kids. Let people know that aside acting you have other side businesses," she said.

"Let people know your side hustle is what is making you take first-class flight. Because your lifestyles put pressure on the youth. If we are not sincere to the people about what we do so that they do not put pressure on themselves to do what we do".

According to her, it takes time for people to be in the limelight but recent trends make the young ones feel it takes a month or two to be stars and to make huge money from acting.

It is this lie that makes the younger ones engage in all kinds of unworthy acts just so they can also flaunt their lifestyles on social media, she concluded.
