Miracles Begin at Zero Zone - Pastor Charles Oduro

The Yennyawoso District Pastor of The Church of Pentecost in the New Tafo Area, Rev. Charles Oduro has advised Christians to empty themselves of all things to be able to experience the glory and the miracles of God in their lives.

He said this in his homily on the topic, "The Zero Factor" during the District Presbytery meeting held on Friday, June 5, 2020, at the Central Assembly auditorium.

The meeting was attended by representatives from each local following the partial lifting of the ban on religious gatherings.

Reading from John 12:20-26, Pastor Oduro entreated Christians to consider themselves helpless without Christ, stressing that, "It is better to start from zero because the secret of creativity is nothing as the world was created out of nothing."

He explained that, though Christ shared the same nature with God, He made Himself nothing and took the humble position of a slave, hence God has highly exalted Him by bestowing on Him the name that is above every other name in heaven and on earth and under the earth, noting that, "Miracles always begin at the zero zone."

According to him, those at the zero zone see themselves as nothing before God, adding that, "they are poor in spirit, who do not boast of anything but acknowledge God in all their ways." He, thus, charged believers to make themselves nothing for God to make them something.

The District Minister expounded that when a seed is planted, it dies before it germinates, hence Christians must die to the flesh to be able to live a new life and be fruitful in Christ Jesus (Colossians 3:1).

He further added that as a dead body is immune to all things, those who have died to the flesh are able to weather all storms and afflictions in life. Such persons, he noted, nothing separates them from the love of Christ, not even death, saying, "Even, if we die we are still the Lord's."

Drawing some lessons from the lives of the woman who hemorrhaged for 12 years, the man who had been sick for 38 years at the pool of Bethesda and the widow at Zarephath, Pastor Charles Oduro exhorted believers to avoid blame games and seek God's intervention and deliverance.

"If we see ourselves as nothing and turn to Christ, He will surely help us," he stated.

He also advised them to put away pride in all their undertakings because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
