Accident scene

A Military Officer with 155 Armoured Regiment in the Savannah region last night was involved in a motor accident at Damongo in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region.

According to reports, he was riding an Apsonic motorbike and unknowingly jumped into a stationary tractor without reflectors on the road, damaging the motor and hurting himself in the process.

He experienced blood oozing from the nose and eyes and it seemed he had a fracture on the leg.

The street lighting system on that stretch is not functioning on most of the link roads in Damongo including the stretch, where the accident happened.

This unfortunate situation would be a wake-up call to the Municipal Assembly to fix the streets lighting system in Damongo township.

Meanwhile, the said officer is currently responding to treatment at the St. Anne’s Catholic Hospital in Damongo.

More to come...
