Methodist Church Ghana Amends some SOPs

Brother Albert Opoku Addai revealed that there must be responsibilities in the church organizations and a way to reduce the number of officers in charge of the organizations.

The Koforidua Diocesan Lay Chairman, of the Methodist Church Ghana, Brother Albert Opoku Addai has retreated that there is one presidential portfolio in the Methodist Church Ghana, and with immediate effect, all organizations in the church that referred to its head as the president to revert to chairmanship status.

Mr Albert Opoku Addai was addressing the 42nd annual synod of Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, a lay section at the Tutu Calvary Methodist society over the weekend.

"According to him, the connexion lay has unanimously agreed, that the office of the financial secretary and Treasurer portfolios has been merged to serve for the same purposes and the responsibilities in the church organizations and a way to reduce the number of officers in charge of the organizations". 

According to him, the merged was necessitated as a result of a conflict of interest and confusion amongst those  portfolios, adding that the oversight responsibilities on the
part of the financial secretary has therefore been set aside for the implementations of this new organizational structure in the church to restores financial discipline. 

Brother Albert Opoku Addai disclosed, that the organizational structure now consists of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Deputies, the Treasurer and the internal Auditor.

He urged all organizational heads in the church to comply with the directives from the highest decision making body for a smooth running of their day to day administrations
