The Asuadei M/A Junior High School in Asunafo North Municipality of Ahafo Region has scored 100% in Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) despite studying under dilapidated structures.

Last year's batch (2020) was the second time they had faced the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) irrespective of the agony in learning under the rundown school building.

Graduates of the first batch (2019) had grades between 17 and 26, and the recent batch (2020), had grades between 17 to 21 respectively; a tremendous performance in BECE.

Despite that, the school, which started in a KG building initiated by the Asuadei community through communal labour lacks proper classrooms, inadequate furniture, textbooks, not even a single computer.

The Headteacher of Asuadei JHS, Anthony Obeng speaking to Soiree News reporter, Sulley Dramani on the success and challenges of the school said the government of Ghana should assist in its development.

The Assembly Member of Asuadei Nyamekyere Electoral Area, Mr Andrew Kuma disclosed that the Member of Parliament has started putting up 3-Unit Classroom block for the school but the contractor has since left the site since November 2020.

Nana Kojo Asiedu, Sanaahene of Asuadei pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to ensure the speedy provision of a befitting classroom block for the current generation of students and posterity.

“Our wards are really doing well, they deserve good school buildings, the government must give them a fair share of the national cake," Sanaahene stated.

The Asuadei Sanaahene, however, has appealed to non-governmental organizations, corporate entities, and philanthropists across the world to assist the school on all fronts.
