Mask ambassadors in the Sunyani Municipality are bemoaning the indiscriminative rate at which individuals in the Municipality dispose off their used nose masks.

Speaking on Ark in the Morning monitored by Soiree News Bono Regional Correspondent Nana Ama Asiedu, Health Promotion Officer and mask ambassador, Madam Evelyn Opoku Agyemang said, to help ensure safe disposal and handling of masks during the COVID-19 crisis one can either wrap it with rubber or drop it in a dustbin

She said nose masks, especially, the surgical ones, were bio-degradable, thus best buried to avoid endangering animals and marine lives.

She added that the surgical mask must not be used for more than a day.

Notwithstanding, Naa Aku Shika Alotey, another mask ambassador added that the rate at which people wear nose mask currently has increased.

She is of the view that if the attitude continues the fight against the virus will not be in vain.

They believe their gesture will go a long way to motivate the general public to wear the mask as is the only way the country can help control the spread of the virus.
