Market Fires: Police grab Suspect

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 41-year-old Daniel Dah Kormlah, suspected to have played a  role in the burning of markets especially the Kantamanto market in the country.

The suspect was picked up by a joint team of Police and Intelligence operatives who left Accra on Thursday 17/12/2020 in pursuit of the suspect.

Per a report by theghana report, he was arrested at his hideout in Ho in the Volta Region on Friday evening 18/12/2020 at about 10 pm.

Upon further interrogation, it was realized that the suspect was an active member on various political platforms, namely NDC Group Administrators, Renaissance Agenda 2020, among others.

Information gathered has indicated that Police and Intelligence agencies have begun arresting persons believed to be linked to recent arson in some markets places across the country.

Phone records show several conversations with other persons aimed at incitement to riot and possible conspiracy to attack other state institutions.

Meanwhile, the suspect has admitted to the said conversations and to engaging with like-minded persons to execute some acts with the potential to breach the peace of the nation.

The security agencies are carrying on with their investigations to apprehend more suspects in the coming days.
