A 32-year-old man at Nkawie Panin within the Ashanti Region is battling for his life after he was butchered over a bunch of plantains. A police report indicates that the victim, Ali Dawuda was in his house around 6:30 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2023, when the suspect, angrily came in to accuse him of stealing his plantain.

Before Dawuda could utter a word, the suspect, identified as Boakye pulled a cutlass and butchered him. After committing the crime, the suspect, reportedly, fled the crime scene and left the injured Dawuda to his fate.

Screams from the victim caught the attention of some residents who rushed into the house to find him in a pool of his blood. They rushed him to the Nkawie/Toase Government Hospital for treatment. He was later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi. However, the suspect is still at large. The incident was reported to the police, who quickly sent their men to the crime scene to commence investigations. Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt for the suspect. Source:
