A 57-year-old Charles Kwame Nti has been found dead at Mim waterworks in the Asunafo North Municipality of Ahafo Region.

The deceased was discovered yesterday afternoon at the Mim Waterworks which supply water to the entire township.

A friend of the deceased who works at Forestry Commission under Afforestation (name withheld) said, Charles was married with six children but divorced his wife. He had a mental deficiency. He left home 3 days ago but did not return.

The issue, therefore, was reported to the Mim Police command where they commenced a search for the deceased.

Chief Inspector Agyeman Berko who spoke to the SN24 News said the police had a call that a body was floating in the Waterworks.

“So we went to the scene to retrieve the body, a male who would be around 57years.”

The police inspector stated that, although there were no cuts or marks on the deceased body, they (police) suspected foul play nevertheless, “it is unclear whether the death was a homicide or suicide.”

“For now, we can't tell whether this was a murder or a case of suicide because there are no visible signs of violence found on the body. We can only conduct an official autopsy to determine the actual cause and circumstances surrounding his death.”

The body has since been transferred to Goaso Municipal Hospital for autopsy and preservation while the Investigation Continues.
