Scott Carson has been labelled as a real leader of the Man City which follows a major signing.

The Premier League winners are to secure the services of goalkeeper Scott Carson on a free transfer after the 35-year-old was released by Championship outfit Derby County.

Carson has now spent the last two seasons on loan at the home of the Premier League champions, as the third choice keeper in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

And while Carson has only made one Premier League appearance in that time - featuring in a dramatic 4-3 victory at St James' Park against Newcastle last season, the former Derby man is considered to be a key cog in the dressing room.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola said, maybe people don't know it but he is a key member Of our squad labelling Scott as a real leader for Man City.

Guardiola further explained that Carson says straight away what he believes and has a lot of experience. Pep said Carson is an incredible person and the whole team are delighted to have him.

The 35-year-old keeper is the first signing of the Man City as they head towards the summer. Carson who has already been at the club on loan for 24 months, the former Derby keeper would now be a key player in the Man City set-up mechanism come next season.

Nevertheless, Scott Carson remains an important leader for the squad and will be seen as a key signing by the coaching staff. 

Man City would be seeking to make things right next season by defending their Premier League title and also making it a real deal in the UEFA Champions League next season.
